The ‘Rabo Café is part of a large transformation project covering all hospitality zones within the central area of the Rabobank Headquarters in Utrecht.

For this assignment with a significant sustainability challenge we designed a broad range of spaces creating a careful mix of re-used and new elements.

Each area with it’s own identity but reflecting the Rabobank core values.

Rabo Café

Heart of the Central Square

Upon entering the building, the central bar and sculptural lighting immediately catch the eye.

The luminous artwork by Grietje Schepers is an inviting eye-catcher due to its organic form and soft tactility, ensuring a warm welcome to the building.

The old coffee bar has been completely transformed, and space has been created around it for a park-like terrace with plenty of greenery.

The terrace zone behind the coffee bar is marked by a light-colored bio-based terrazzo floor finish.

Taking a break in this luminous area filled with plants is like a breath of fresh air without leaving the building…

The café and adjacent areas offer various seating options for grabbing a quick coffee, meeting up with colleagues, or just pull up a chair at one of the landing tables.
