The Garden Room

Coworking & Meeting Space

The ‘Garden Room’ is part of a large transformation project covering all hospitality zones within the central area of the Rabobank Headquarters in Utrecht.

For this assignment with a significant sustainability challenge we designed a broad range of spaces creating a careful mix of re-used and new elements.

Each area with it’s own identity but reflecting the Rabobank core values.

Where the former local bank once blocked the view outside now an open, bright, green space has been created, forming a gradual transition between the central hall and the beautiful lush courtyard.

With a variety of open and more private seating areas and three large meeting rooms this space offers something for everyone.

To enhance the outdoor atmosphere we applied mainly natural materials such as an acoustic ‘wicker wall’ made of locally harvested reed and felt dividers woven with wool left-overs

The benches in the semi-open 'train seats' are recycled and originally came from one of the company restaurants that have been renovated.
